In addition to using different language books for different needs, my methodology includes multimedia materials — films, songs, etc. — to expose students to culture and history as well as to language. You will learn quickly and have more fun than you ever imagined!
I coordinate a circle of other private tutors and offer referrals based on your needs.
All material is provided for Portuguese lessons. The lessons are dynamic, practical, and centred around the student's needs. Whether you are a beginner or advanced, classes are tailored to your skill level. Engaging the student’s interest is crucial to maximizing class time, so I elicit student feedback and adjust my teaching strategy accordingly.
Interview invitation
The interview is an opportunity to share information about yourself, discuss your goals and the reasons you want to attend to this course
It is also for you to get to know the teacher, the course and discuss whether this is the best option for you.
They are as much for you to learn more about the course as they are for the course to learn more about you.Students should arrange an interview with a teacher before scheduling a course.
I hold my classes in one of the most interesting areas of Rio de Janeiro, Laranjeiras. The classes can also be held at the students’ home or workplace. If I am not available, I can refer the student to another qualified teacher in my network.
For classes at the teacher’s house. For different locations, please ask me, including the address, the number of hours and the number of students.
“Laura Mostafa was my teacher of Brasilian Portuguese at the adult learning classes at Bath University. Lively, charming, well-informed and friendly, she proved a most inspiring teacher. Laura managed to encourage the shy and retiring without putting down the more naturally ebullient. I have taught Latin and Classical Greek for forty years, and have seen good and bad teachers. Laura is one of the best.”
